The Readers Scarborough Beckett Cricket League administers the sport for leading town and village clubs, based around Scarborough, in an area of North Yorkshire extending from Whitby, to the North, Bridlington, to the South and Helmsley, to the West.The League has a membership of 34clubs, forming four divisions, "Premier", 'A', 'B', and 'C' currently with 10 teams in each division.

An annual knock-out cup competition is competed for each of the four Divisions, namely the Cayley Cup, which is an evening competition, with the finals played on Sunday afternoons during July.A league handbook is published annually illustrating items of interest from the previous season, together with fixtures, rules etc for the current season. Cayton C.C.A promotion / relegation policy is operated in co-operation with the Derwent Valley Cricket League, which also covers an identical catchment area.Scarborough & District Umpires' and Scorers' Association provide a neutral umpire's panel who supply umpires for all "Premier" fixtures, plus the majority of Division 'A'.The Association is always looking for additional members.
