Scalby Cricket Club have played in the village of Scalby from when they were formed in approx 1870 being admitted to the Scarborough Beckett League pre 1931.

The Carr Lane ground has been their home since the late 1930's, the field having previously been the cricket ground of the Wrea Head Country House.

Prior to playing at Carr Lane, Scalby Cricket Club played at grounds on Scalby Road and Hackness Road within the village.
